Missouri is where I was born, raised and currently live. If by some idiotic chance this becomes law I will leave and not look back. I will fight it with all my being until then. I find this mindset offensive and hurtful. I am stunned. I am saddened that there are actually people in power who think this way. How did we get to this?
DOMA was a massive mistake on the part of Congress. Morality aside, legislators are isolating what has already been shown to be a significant voting segment of the public: the LGBT community and its allies. I’m not naïve enough to believe that an ethical appeal works with most politicians, but they should be getting the idea now that it’s bad for their careers to piss off an important voting group.
